Beatrix Potter - the first story of Peter Rabbit was told by Beatrix Potter to Noël Moore, the five-year-old son of a former governess in a letter in 1893. The letter was illustrated with drawings to accompany the Peter Rabbit story. From these beginnings we now have the wonderful world of Beatrix Potter.
